I just spent the last 20 minutes in a meditation, where I imagined that I was drinking a melange with Julian Bream in Vienna. During this meditation, I asked him what his greatest strength , and what his grandest secret was. His answer was, “let others be”. Work on yourself, and let others do their own thing. He told me that no one knows who he is outside of the classical guitar world (not exactly true) but that is how he gets along with all walks of life. That most of the time, people mistake him for the guy who wraps the fish in chips in newspaper in the food truck parked around the corner. I suspect the Maestro was having a bit of fun with me. But I get his point. Im not going to be successful at what I love, if I keep worrying about what everyone thinks of me.
I also learned that Julian Bream is my highest self.
When I asked him for a last bit of advice, while we finished up our coffees, he said to me, ” see the world, experience life how you want, but when you need to just breathe – find your way back to your guitar. He is the your center”.
I have 48 minutes before I have to start my day. I think I will spend those minutes with my guitar.
Enjoy your day.
I wont be counting letters today – because this message came mostly from Julian.
