This week has been a particularly tough. It’s only Wednesday and its felt like I have already worked 18 days this week. I have been having a hard time controlling my anger towards certain individuals, and while I haven’t (yet) said anything to anyone – there have been times that I primal screamed into a pillow. Yesterday, I came up with a plan to deal with my frustration and anger in a more joyous way. To dance! And so I danced it out. All day long. In fact I danced so much, I didn’t have to go to the gym tonight.
My work regime looked a bit like this: answer an email, do a little dance. Write some text, wash a few dishes and cha cha my way to the kitchen. Answer another email and then dance a tango with my plant (I’m currently short on dance partners). The point is I ended the day with a smile. Something that has been absent the last 2 days. I even started sharing my 1-3 minute dance parties with my department. We all work remotely. And while dancing is strictly a cameras off activity, I decided that it would be nice if we were all dancing to the same tune.
We finished our day with some cheery cumbia music by Pedro Laza.
Tomorrow we start the day with Dancing Queen.
