Frazzled Canadian Woman

Not Canadian – but she could be

I know that I am not alone in loving late October. Commonly referred to as “sweater weather”, we get to break out our woolen layers, and dress cozily, while we embrace our more than slightly chaotic lifestyles. And then on Sunday we crash and crash hard, and tell ourselves that we will behave better next week. But fully knowing that come next Sunday we will be lounging under the quiet covers until 10 am, drink too much coffee, and play wordle or one of its relatives.

Today I made a plan for next week – 60 hrs of work, a meal plan that I need to go shopping for, a list of chores that I have been avoiding (closets!), a coaching call, journal exercises, a sound bath meditation, and finding my way back to the gym 4 times – after spending the last 10 days at home with a bad case of laryngitis.

The good thing about not dating, is that I have freed up (at least) one evening a week to devote to things that I love to do, and start new projects (this one!). Also I get to devote some time to self care and not feel like I am depriving myself of anything important.

So despite all the stuff I have going on this week, I intend to incorporate the following into my routine (besides the above mentioned).

1. take an online drawing class
2. make a playlist of music that makes me feel good and motivated
3. cook every night (ok sort of mentioned)
4, read 2 books – The Golem and the Jinni, and Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
5. contemplate what Utopia and Heaven on Earth means to me
6. meditate on the word ambition.
7. wear one outfit this week that doesn’t consist of jeans, leggings, or hoodies.
8. go to bed at a reasonable bedtime, ie later than 9pm.
9. write 3 page journal entries every day this week.

Have you made a to-do list for your week, where you may or may not end up spending your entire Sunday in bed? What does it look like?
